Jul 19 - Forbes magazine recently put together a list of the ten musicians that made the most money from June of 2009 through last June, and U2, AC/DC and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN take the number one, two and four spots on that list, respectively. The only other rock band in the top ten is COLDPLAY at number ten, tied with the BLACK EYED PEAS.

U2 netted an estimated $130 million after bringing in $311 million in gross box office receipts from their massive 360 tour in 2009. Each tour stop brought in $10 million and, including U2 merchandise and albums, BONO and the boys can rest comfortably knowing they currently are the biggest band in the world.

AC/DC wasn't far behind the Irish rockers, netting $114 million last year from their 99-date worldwide tour. Add income from other products and the band earned $226 million in gross revenues. Springsteen managed to bank $70 million after selling two million tickets on his world tour. Including solid back catalog sales, The Boss he brought in $167 million.

Speaking of tours, Billboard recently released their list of the top 25 earning touring acts. AC/DC, BON JOVI and METALLICA take the first, second and fourth spots, respectively. AC/DC made $118 million gross just from their shows while Bon Jovi has made $51 million and Metallica has earned $39 million.
